"NO big deal"... where do we start? How about at the beginning - in 1994? Dennis Massengale
(and his great friend, Paul Hatcher) put a band together with studio musicians. The result was
called BIG DEAL (yes, it was a joke!). Nine years (and a LOT of personnel changes) later, Dennis
changed the name to "NO big deal". So even stupid people would get the joke. This band has
played all over the Southeast United States. They have opened for many national acts. Cover
Band??? Well... sort of. They sprinkle a healthy dose of originals in with their own arrangements
of Classic Rock and Southern Blues favorites. Whether covering the Eagles (with those signature
harmonies) or their own version of Delbert McClinton's classic rock/funk hits, "NO big deal" always
gets it right. One will NEVER hear the same show twice. Their fine vocals are accented by lead
breaks (on guitar and piano).
The dynamics are unique - each member actually LISTENS to the
others (Gee, Wally! What a concept!). You may want to dance. You WILL want to hear more of...
                                          "NO big deal".

Dennis Massengale started playing "wooden rock" in 1972 with a band called "Us". Variations of that band played for about 7 years ("Part of Us", "Sum of Us"... clever... VERY clever). His band, "Silver Creek", gave Dennis his first taste of the studio when he recorded two originals and released a "45". After 10 years with Jim Palmour ("Mass & Palmour Band"), BIG DEAL became the next project for Dennis and his friend, Paul Hatcher. The two wrote and produced a CD entitled "Antietam Creek" in 1996. That project did very well regionally, both in sales and critically. In 1998, Dennis and Paul released a political parody called "Baghdad Boogie" that got airplay nationwide and in Canada (it was also featured on Rush Limbaugh's Syndicated Show). Dennis changed the name of the band to "NO big deal" in 2003, in part so "even stupid people would get the joke". The last full-length CD by "NO big deal" came out in 2008, entitled "Uncovered" (8 All Original tunes). As Dennis continues to write (and add new songs), the show is ever-changing! A self proclaimed "master of the stage", Dennis focuses on entertaining and making the crowd a part of the show.

Barry Wilde (aka: Barely White)

Barry started playing piano 6 months before he was born. Diaper changing was very difficult for his mother, as he always had his fingers on the keys. Barry never played sports (like the other girls in the neighborhood), but he had no trouble getting dates in high school... in fact those were the best 7 years of his life! Playing for the likes of Dorris Day, Tiny Tim and Frank Sinatra, Barry sharpened his skills (and also learned some piano along the way!). He has (actually!) been on the road with Jerry Reed and Con Hunley. His career path lead him to "NO big deal" when Dennis lost yet another keyboardplayer. Barry has an almost famous left hand, and carries the bass well enough that the duo/trio version of "Nbd" sounds like it has a bass player! He gets Grand Piano, horns, strings (even banjo!) out of his piano... and he sings, as well!
